Using EMDR therapy in the treatment of addictions with Philip Andrews

Aims: 

• Critically consider Addiction through a trauma focused framework.
• Gain knowledge of Addiction specific protocols.
• Reflect on the application of AIP as a theoretical framework pertinent to understanding addiction and
  subsequent treatment.
• Explore the utilisation of EMDR therapy as either a sole, serial or parallel treatment intervention for
  Addiction.
• Gain understanding of how EMDR Therapy can utilised with the 6 stages of change as described by
  Prochaska and DiClemente. 

This CPD event will provide the knowledge and practical advice to enable EMDR therapists to integrate EMDR
Therapy in the psychological treatment of wide variety of addiction problems presented by clients. Case
presentations will be provided and will form the basis of EMDR Therapy case formulation and discussion.

This CPD event will be suitable for EMDR Therapists who would like to gain more knowledge and confidence in
integrating EMDR with this client group.
