Adam is an EMDR Consultant, CBT Therapist, BABCP & EMDR Europe Accredited. Currently working as Psychological services Lead with Police Care UK. He holds the Chair of the Ulster EMDR committee in addition sits on the EMDR accreditation committee and the Irish Association of Behavioural and Cognitive psychotherapies. Adam worked as an associated lecturer & supervisor at Queens University, Belfast on PG Diploma CBT Course and holds clinical supervision Post Grad Cert. He is a member of the Counsel of Scholars: an Intellectual community of EMDR International thought-leaders. Adams special interest is in psychological impact of traumatic events including Civilian and Security Forces. He presented this year at EMDR Europe Conference in Dublin 2024.Aims of Presentation
To equip certified EMDR therapist with knowledge and skills to confidently use EMDR to address Perinatal TraumaLearning outcomes - Gain an understanding of Perinatal Trauma
- Understanding the psychological, emotional and physical consequences (include birth related PTSD and anxiety disorder)
- Explore common triggers and risk factors connected with perinatal trauma ( traumatic birth loss or complications)
- Apply AIP model and EMDR principles to treating perinatal trauma
- Explore and explain through Case discussion
- Identify specific considerations for this population with their unique vulnerabilities and needs.
